Job Description
Smalltown Dental in Peoria, Illinois is seeking a relationship-driven Dental Recruiter to lead hiring and retention across its growing practices. This onsite role emphasizes community connection and long-term team development, attracting dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff through creative strategies and local partnerships. The position offers a salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 per year and requires travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for all positions, including dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff.
- Build and sustain a robust candidate pipeline through active networking, outreach, and community involvement.
- Establish and nurture relationships with dental schools, hygiene programs, and local organizations to ensure a steady flow of candidates.
- Design and implement recruiting strategies tailored to Smalltown markets.
- Manage job postings, screening, interviews, and offer processes.
- Collaborate with Service Co. to understand staffing needs and workforce planning.
- Represent the brand by visiting dental schools, career fairs, and networking events to attract top talent.
- Forge strategic partnerships with dental education programs to support long-term recruiting efforts.
- Engage prospective candidates through on-campus events, presentations, and one-on-one conversations.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
- Develop and implement retention strategies to improve employee satisfaction.
- Conduct regular check-ins with team members and leadership to gauge engagement and address concerns.
- Assist with onboarding to ensure a smooth and welcoming new-hire experience.
- Monitor turnover trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support culture-building initiatives across practices.
Requirements
- Prior recruiting experience required; healthcare or dental background preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to connect with candidates in a genuine, community-focused way.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple roles and priorities.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Experience with retention strategies or HR functions is a plus.
