Job Description

Join Turner Construction Company in Decatur, AL, where you can support skilled trades hiring for xPL Offsite Manufacturing while contributing to a talent acquisition team focused on continuous improvement, customer service, and strong collaboration. This onsite role (with office or remote work as applicable) centers on building diverse candidate pipelines, improving internal mobility, and partnering closely with regional hiring managers, HR, and Operations to move candidates from sourcing through onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the talent acquisition lifecycle for xPL Offsite Manufacturing skilled trades requisitions within assigned region(s).
  • Partner with regional hiring managers to define talent needs and job requirements, ensuring requisitions are filled in a timely manner.
  • Promote company culture and values, contribute new approaches, and support continuous improvement efforts for the Talent Acquisition (TA) team.
  • Champion and support Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) activities across the company.
  • Own full-cycle recruiting tasks including posting requisitions in an applicant tracking system (ATS) and social media platforms, identifying and screening candidates, building and sharing short lists, coordinating interviews, creating offer letters, managing background screening, and initiating onboarding.
  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of qualified talent using multiple sourcing techniques and acquisition resources.
  • Research, identify, and engage talent for open requisitions using social media platforms and resume databases.
  • Administer D&I programs to attract and identify diverse applicant talent pools.
  • Build relationships and deliver high level customer service to HR, xPL Operations, hiring managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support internal mobility by partnering with regional HR/Operations teams and other business units to expedite mobility, transfers, and related processes.
  • Manage Experienced Tracking System (ETS) content to facilitate mobility opportunities, including data mining to identify internal candidates based on capability, mobility, and availability.
  • Apply basic lean concepts and practices to improve work efficiency, enhance programs, coordinate and reduce waste (examples provided: Personal Kanban, A3 problem solving, and Story Boarding).
  • Develop and recommend strategies and programs to address acquisition challenges and promote Turner as an Employer of Choice in the talent acquisition process.
  • Participate in company-wide HR initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, plus 3 years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Construction or construction-related industry experience, or experience with a mid-size organization (10,000+ employees), preferred.
  • Professional certifications preferred: HRCI PHR or SHRM CP.
  • Good understanding of business and construction operations.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Talent Acquisition policies, operations, and processes.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other social media platforms, preferred.
  • High energy self-starter with advanced Talent Acquisition skills and strong ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Professional verbal and written business communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, and follow-up practices.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all employee levels, management, and candidates.
  • Integrity, ability to maintain confidential information, and exercise discretion.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and collaborate with others.
  • Capability to implement new talent acquisition programs and processes with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Solid problem solving and analytical capabilities.

Physical Demands

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Regularly works in an office or remote setting.
  • Noise is usually quiet to moderate in an office setting.
  • May occasionally work at construction work sites with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Noise in construction settings is usually moderate to loud.
  • Required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
