Talent Acquisition Specialist
Job Description
From the Fargo area, Nodak Insurance Company is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to drive the full recruitment lifecycle and provide essential HR operations support. The role involves everything from candidate sourcing and interviewing to onboarding, offboarding, and handling employment inquiries, all while maintaining consistent application of company policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates for open roles.
- Collaborate with department managers to capture the skills and competencies required for each position.
- Coordinate or conduct background checks and verify candidate eligibility to work.
- Present approved job offers and coordinate salary discussions between the candidate and the hiring manager.
- Oversee the I-9 verification process and maintain compliant employment eligibility forms.
- Manage the onboarding experience to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Handle offboarding activities, including return of systems and equipment, processing terminations, and conducting exit interviews.
- Respond to employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, routing complex matters to the appropriate HR team as needed.
- Assist with planning and scheduling Spring and Fall career fairs.
- Support the planning and execution of employee events and activities.
- Keep current on HR trends, regulatory updates, and new HR technology to support talent management and employment law compliance.
- Participate in monthly Employee Planning Committee discussions to foster positive employee engagement.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of HR operations.
- Assist with various ad hoc HR projects as they arise.

- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Pay
Hourly pay range: $21.15 - $26.44
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
