Job Description

Sentara Health offers a hybrid, Virginia Beach area based Executive Recruiter role focused on senior leadership hiring. You will own full-cycle recruitment for Director through Vice President levels, with potential collaboration on VP-level searches alongside the Manager of Executive Recruiting. This position provides a high-touch, consultative experience for both hiring executives and candidates, enabling you to influence talent strategy at the organization's top levels.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute end-to-end recruiting for Director, Senior Director, and Vice President positions, guiding each search from inception to close with a strategic perspective.
  • Develop and implement customized, proactive sourcing plans using direct outreach, executive networking, industry events, professional associations, and advanced research tools to assemble diverse candidate slates.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments including behavioral and competency-based interviews, leadership evaluation, and culture fit analysis.
  • Guide hiring executives through structured interview processes, candidate evaluation, and selection decisions.
  • Lead complex offer negotiations for senior-level roles, including compensation packages, relocation, sign-on incentives, and other offer components.
  • Serve as the primary talent acquisition contact for VP-and-above needs, coordinating with other TA teams as needed.
  • Manage or coordinate recruitment activity for VP+ openings, partnering with other recruiters as appropriate.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience across all senior leadership roles.
  • Provide regular search updates and candidate pipeline reports to hiring managers and to the Manager of Executive Recruiting.
  • Build and maintain strong consultative relationships with senior hiring executives to understand business goals, culture, and talent needs.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Compensation teams to develop competitive and equitable offers for senior-level talent.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization’s executive recruiting playbook and best practices under the direction of the Manager of Executive Recruiting.
  • Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system to ensure compliance and provide actionable data.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies throughout the hiring process.
  • Support continuous improvement of executive recruiting processes, tools, and metrics as directed by the Manager of Executive Recruiting.
  • Assist in coordinating and managing executive search firm engagements when vendor partnerships are utilized.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of progressive recruitment experience
  • Three years focused on senior leadership, executive-level, or complex recruitment

Location and work arrangement

This is a remote/hybrid role, with candidates required to reside within 50 miles of Sentara Park in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Certifications

  • PHR/SPHR (Preferred)
  • AIRS Certified Recruiter (Preferred)
  • Or equivalent professional recruiting certification (Preferred)
