Corporate Recruiter - Construction Industry
Job Description
United Contractor Services is seeking a Corporate Recruiter to support its construction operations in Kansas City, Missouri. This onsite role centers on sourcing, screening, and placing craft and field personnel across active markets, with a strong emphasis on high-volume field hires and occasional responsibilities in project management and office support. The position offers the chance to work closely with field and operations leaders to keep projects staffed and moving forward.
Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit field and craft candidates through job boards, referrals, networking, and direct outreach
- Screen applicants, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Collaborate with the Recruiting Manager to forecast staffing needs and prioritize open roles
- Partner with field and operations leadership to ensure projects stay fully staffed
- Guide candidates through the full hiring process from application to interview, offer, and onboarding handoff
- Maintain accurate candidate records and keep requisitions current
- Develop and sustain a pipeline of skilled trades talent for current and upcoming projects
- Represent United Contractor Services professionally to candidates and help create a strong first impression of the company
- Assist with recruiting for project management and support roles as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of recruiting experience, with a strong preference for construction or skilled trades recruiting
- Comfortable handling high-volume, time-sensitive hiring
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple open roles simultaneously
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in an in-office, team-based environment
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and job board platforms
- Valid driver’s license and occasional local travel
