Job Description
Internal Talent Acquisition Specialist focused on sourcing, screening, and mobilizing skilled trades for industrial and large scale construction projects; partners with HR to support workforce planning, project staffing, and onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, resume databases, referrals, networking, social media, and other recruiting channels
- Recruit for skilled trades roles including electricians, millwrights, welders, pipefitters, QA/QC, safety, project management, executive leadership, and other industrial and construction related positions
- Hire across experience levels from Apprentices to Executive Leadership
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for immediate and future hiring needs
- Outreach to candidates via phone, text, email campaigns, and recruiting platforms
- Apply creative sourcing strategies to identify hard to find candidates
- Conduct candidate interviews to assess experience, technical qualifications, work history, project fit, and workforce readiness
- Evaluate candidate qualifications against project requirements, customer expectations, and company standards
- Document interview notes and candidate feedback accurately and professionally
- Present qualified candidates to hiring managers and operations teams
- Verify candidate availability, travel requirements, compensation expectations, and project compatibility
- Support workforce mobilization by coordinating onboarding activities and start dates
- Collaborate with onboarding, HR, operations, and field teams to ensure successful deployment
- Assist with workforce planning to anticipate future hiring demands
- Support urgent hiring initiatives and rapidly changing manpower requirements
- Maintain frequent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Maintain candidate information within recruiting systems and databases
- Track recruiting activity, candidate pipelines, interviews, submittals, and placements
- Utilize recruiting technologies to support sourcing, pipeline management, and workforce planning
- Maintain accurate records, recruiting metrics, and hiring activity reports
- Support process improvements that increase recruiting efficiency and hiring success
- Work within Paycom and Monday.com to support recruiting workflows, onboarding coordination, candidate tracking, and project staffing
- Develop a foundational understanding of the trades and positions supported, including certifications and licenses
- Evaluate technical experience, project fit, and workforce readiness beyond sourcing
- Understand trade certifications, licenses, and qualification requirements
- Learn career progression paths from Apprentice to Foreman, Superintendent, PM, and Executive leadership
- Become familiar with certifications relevant to construction and industrial projects
- Develop familiarity with tools, equipment, technologies, and work methods across skilled trades
- Learn how various trades perform work in industrial construction settings
- Develop the ability to conduct effective candidate screening conversations and evaluate project fit
- Understand welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, orbital, pipe, and fabrication
- Be familiar with industrial electrical concepts including conduit sizes, cable tray sizes, voltage classifications, and wire sizes
- Know OSHA requirements, jobsite safety expectations, PPE, and site onboarding requirements
- Understand project specific hiring requirements and workforce mobilization across multiple environments
- Learn customer expectations and workforce mobilization needs across projects
- Differentiate residential, commercial, and industrial environments
- Learn career progression paths from Apprentice through leadership roles
- Use trade knowledge to discuss opportunities and growth with candidates
- Use structured interviews and technical screening processes to evaluate qualifications
- Assess project fit, technical competency, safety awareness, and workforce readiness
- Identify strong candidates through experience verification and practical discussions of tools and work methods
- Maintain strong communication and relationship building with candidates and teams
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Maintain organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Proactive outbound candidate outreach and relationship building
- Demonstrate computer proficiency and ability to learn recruiting technologies
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Maintain urgency and adapt to changing priorities
- Multitask and manage numerous open positions simultaneously
- Contribute to filling positions efficiently with qualified candidates
- Maintain strong candidate pipelines across multiple skill sets and experience levels
- Provide rapid manpower support to projects while maintaining positive candidate experiences
- Align recruiting metrics, placements, hiring goals, and workforce demands
- Foster strong communication between recruiting, operations, HR, field leadership, and project teams
- Support workforce planning, project execution, company growth, onboarding, and long term talent strategy within HR
- Help build a skilled workforce for industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and data center projects in collaboration with operations and leadership
- Impactful in fast paced environments through relationship building and measurable outcomes

- Experience with Paycom, Monday.com, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, RoadDog Jobs, or similar platforms
- Experience supporting workforce mobilization, project staffing, or project-based hiring
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required

Compensation & location
- Salary: USD 50,000 - 80,000 per year
