Job Description

BATAVIA CONTAINER INC is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist to strengthen the recruiting experience end to end, working closely with Hiring Managers as a key HR business partner. This onsite role in Batavia, IL supports full cycle recruitment, including candidate attraction, interviewing coordination, and onboarding support under the general supervision of the HR Manager.

The position offers an annual salary range of USD 55,000 to 70,000 and a structured approach to building diverse talent pipelines. You will also help ensure hiring practices align with fair employment expectations, federal and state hiring regulations, and effective labor relations guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high volume recruitment searches across a variety of roles within the organization.
  • Source candidates proactively through multiple channels, including internet sourcing via LinkedIn Recruiter, Monster.com, Career Builder, and Indeed, along with networking.
  • Research and draft job performance requirements, analyze job content, and prepare job descriptions in standardized form.
  • Provide administrative support for hiring activities, including posting job requisitions, maintaining applicant files, supporting pre-employment background and drug screening, and new employee paperwork.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Hiring Managers and candidates.
  • Partner with Managers to understand and influence future business needs and anticipate staffing impacts as business changes occur.
  • Interview candidates by phone, video conference, or in person for all levels within the organization.
  • Collect and analyze recruiting metrics related to applicants and hiring.
  • Maintain relationships with recruitment sources including high schools, trade schools, universities, colleges, private search firms, employment agencies, and professional associations.
  • Attend college recruiting events on behalf of BATAVIA CONTAINER INC.
  • Support orientation and induction of new employees, and conduct routine follow-up with new employees.
  • Maintain records and stay current on fair employment practices, effective labor relations guidelines, and applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Maintain labor market information, conduct pay surveys, review salary structure, and recommend adjustments when appropriate.
  • Coordinate new employee salary offers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of recruiting experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective negotiation tactics.
  • Knowledge of behavioral based interviewing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment law compliance.
  • Ability to select and use the most appropriate methods to source qualified candidates.
  • Travel may be required to other locations, approximately 20%.
