Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist position at UCP Staffing in Reno, NV focuses on sourcing, evaluating, onboarding, and managing candidates across the recruiting lifecycle. This role shapes talent strategy and workforce planning to drive client success, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and communicate job postings across channels to attract quality candidates.
  • Schedule and conduct phone and in-person interviews.
  • Assess candidates to understand their technical depth and fit for roles.
  • Market top candidates to generate new business leads and increase placements.
  • Exercise independent judgment in evaluating, hiring, and coaching temporary associates, including removal when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Executives to advise on workforce solutions, client challenges, and market conditions.
  • Proactively build and maintain talent pipelines across multiple verticals.
  • Utilize the ATS and other tools to optimize candidate utilization and engagement.
  • Oversee end-to-end candidate lifecycle, ensuring visibility of flow, assignment status, and redeployment.
  • Develop strong relationships with candidates so they prefer UCP as their first choice, whether actively seeking, on assignment, or passive.
  • Manage end-of-assignment transitions and milestones.
  • Represent UCP Staffing in workforce and unemployment programs, building partnerships with local and state agencies, job fairs, vocational services, trade schools, and veterans services.
  • Act as UCP's community representative at networking events, hiring fairs, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic community partner to boost brand visibility and market reputation.
  • Attend after-hours events as needed to support networking, recruiting, and brand awareness.
  • Maintain honesty and respect in all interactions.
  • Prepare weekly payroll timecards for the employee workforce.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of UCP services and competitive landscape.
  • Generate leads through referrals and platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn, using them as sales tools in addition to recruiting.
  • Meet or exceed weekly recruiting KPI targets.
  • Organize weekly recruiting efforts using the CRM for onboarding, job orders, activities, and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic recruiting plans tailored to market challenges and workforce trends.
  • Analyze hiring trends and workforce data to adjust strategies and optimize talent pipelines.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on local labor markets, compensation trends, and competitor activity, guiding internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend process improvements and contribute to policy development related to recruitment and staffing practices.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
  • 1-2 years of recruiting experience or a strong desire to learn is preferred.
  • Staffing industry recruiting experience, including construction and/or light industrial, is highly preferred.
  • High sense of urgency and self-confidence.
  • Ability to thrive in a quota-driven environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Energetic, self-managed, capable of leading and achieving recruiting goals.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with significant impact to the company and clients.

Hours, Work Environment and Physical Demands

Regular office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The role may require night and weekend hours based on business needs. The position frequently involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, and listening for extended periods. Lifting requirements include up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and more than 50 pounds occasionally.
