Job Description

Supports the Talent Acquisition Department's day-to-day operations at Viejas Center of Career Development in Alpine, CA, onsite, with a pay rate of $20 per hour and a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for the Viejas Center of Career Development HR team, greeting and guiding candidates, staff, vendors, and guests while answering general HR and company inquiries.
  • Handle incoming calls and voicemails, routing inquiries to the appropriate staff.
  • Provide front desk coverage when the Training Specialist is unavailable.
  • Reach out to applicants and assist throughout hiring and onboarding, coordinating appointments and supporting the electronic applicant tracking and onboarding systems.
  • Enter data and resolve discrepancies in the applicant tracking system promptly.
  • Update files promptly and transfer records to electronic storage as needed.
  • Review applications and onboarding documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Administer pre-employment drug tests for new hires and current team members, track tests, and share results with the respective recruiters or departments.
  • Prepare and distribute additional HR documents, including I-9 verification, drug and alcohol screening, confidentiality agreements, and W-4 forms.
  • Coordinate gaming commission appointments and review new hire paperwork for accuracy, including uniform fittings and passport photos.
  • Manage internal transfers and ensure all requisites are met.
  • Process I-9 verification and re-verification via E-Verify for new candidates, following all related regulations and procedures.
  • Assist with setup, organization, and candidate placement at hiring events on and off property.
  • Support HR projects and other duties as needed.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in human resources administration or a related area.
  • Beginning to intermediate experience with computer systems, including HCM platforms, ATS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in difficult situations.
  • Willingness to accept constructive criticism.
