Job Description

Montgomery County offers an onsite Talent Acquisition Partner role in Dayton, OH with compensation ranging from $29 to $39 per hour. You will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager and HR leadership to coordinate full-cycle recruitment for an assigned department, spanning strategy, screening, interviewing, background checks, and onboarding. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Manager and HR representative to support the recruitment process, ensuring forms, processes, selections, and placements are accurate, complete, and compliant with departmental regulations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact throughout the entire recruiting cycle.
  • Efficiently fill open positions by translating needs into effective sourcing and screening.
  • Establish recruiting requirements by reviewing organizational plans, meeting with managers to discuss needs, timelines, strategy, sourcing plans, and appropriate job descriptions.
  • Remove barriers in job requirements to promote opportunities for diverse populations.
  • Prepare open position postings and advertisements.
  • Post job openings on appropriate job boards, social media, corporate career sites, and other channels, weighing cost and return on investment.
  • Screen candidates and collaborate with department hiring managers to select candidates for assessments and interviews.
  • Oversee the interview process to ensure a positive candidate experience from first interview through final negotiation and close.
  • Determine qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, verifying references, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Complete hiring recommendations and calculate pay offer recommendations.
  • Handle background checks, physicals, and drug screens as required for the position.
  • Decide on necessary approvals or denials for final hire eligibility and appropriate pay.
  • Issue Adverse Action letters as needed.
  • Utilize the Montgomery County Applicant Tracking System to track progress and activity.
  • Inform candidates of the County’s decision and answer questions about position, procedures, and benefits.
  • Create reports and track the hiring process across departments.
  • Complete all activities required throughout the full cycle recruitment and coordinate hiring functions after recruitment ends to ensure timely processing on the Personnel Action report.
  • Provide oversight to lower level HR personnel in administrative recruitment functions as needed.
  • Promote County employment by serving as an ambassador, highlighting benefits and career opportunities to attract top talent.
  • Identify, coordinate, and attend recruitment events; build relationships with universities and external partners to expand candidate pools.
  • Respond to general emails and phone inquiries regarding open positions.
  • Follow up with managers to assess the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementations.
  • Help prevent legal challenges by understanding relevant legislation, enforcing policies and procedures, and aligning with union contracts.
  • Stay current on recruiting knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and engaging with professional networks.
  • Assist other team members when workload varies and mentor new employees as required.
  • Adhere to all County policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
