Sr. Contract Recruiter
Job Description
XiFin is seeking a Senior Contract Recruiter to own open requisitions end-to-end. This onsite role in San Diego, CA will partner closely with hiring managers and leaders to deliver high-quality talent while maintaining a responsive, transparent candidate experience.
Role Overview
As the recruiter, you will drive the full recruiting lifecycle from proactive intake through sourcing, interviewing and assessment, candidate presentation, and offers through negotiation and closing. You will also manage candidate submissions, interview coordination, and pre-close activities within the applicant tracking system.
Key Responsibilities
- Take immediate ownership of assigned requisitions and quickly understand the business need, role requirements, success profile, and relevant candidate market.
- Lead intake conversations with hiring managers by asking targeted questions to clarify needs beyond the job description.
- Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies, including identifying and engaging passive candidates.
- Source, engage, interview, and assess candidates, evaluating capabilities, motivation, communication skills, and fit with the opportunity.
- Present hiring managers with a high-quality, well-vetted slate of candidates, emphasizing slate strength over resume volume.
- Build credibility with hiring managers and leaders by sharing candid market insight, recruiting expertise, and search recommendations.
- Keep searches progressing by identifying challenges early, adjusting strategies as needed, and maintaining consistent communication.
- Manage the complete candidate journey, including outreach, screening, interview management, feedback collection, offers, negotiation, and closing.
- Maintain a strong candidate experience through timely, responsive, and transparent communication throughout the process.
- Represent the company and opportunities in an authentic, compelling manner, sustaining strong communication regardless of outcome.
- Coordinate submissions, interview logistics, feedback, and offer development and negotiation within the ATS, including pre-close steps.
- Provide hiring managers with ongoing updates on pipeline quality, market challenges, search progress, and recommended adjustments.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues for assigned requisitions rather than waiting for direction.
Required Qualifications
- Motivation to prioritize quality and identify the right candidate rather than simply filling roles.
- Ability to self-start in a new environment, quickly determine what needs to be done, and begin executing.
- Curiosity and strong questioning skills to rapidly understand the business, the role, and what drives success.
- Exceptional communication skills, building credibility with both candidates and senior executives.
- Consultative confidence, providing candid feedback and respectfully challenging assumptions when needed.
- Strong instincts about people, knowing when to dig deeper beyond a resume or initial interview responses.
- Proactive and resourceful approach, adjusting strategy when an initial sourcing or search approach is not producing results.
- High organization and responsiveness, comfortable managing competing searches and priorities.
- Persistence and resilience, using difficult searches as motivation to find alternate paths to the right talent.
- Commitment to candidate experience, recognizing every interaction reflects the company.
- 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, primarily focused on talent acquisition and recruiting.
- Demonstrated success independently managing searches in new recruiting environments with minimal ramp-up.
- Proven ability to identify, recruit, and close high-quality talent across professional, leadership, and executive-level positions.
- Deep experience with proactive sourcing and engaging passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, networks, referrals, targeted research, and related strategies.
- Independent ownership of the full recruiting lifecycle: intake, sourcing strategy, outreach, interviewing and assessment, candidate presentation, interview management, offers, negotiation, and closing.
- Experience partnering with senior and executive leaders and establishing credibility quickly.
- Ability to translate hiring manager needs into an effective candidate profile and search strategy.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent searches while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruiting and sourcing technologies.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, including understanding candidate motivations and navigating offers effectively.
