Job Description

This onsite recruitment role supports Markel Service Inc in sourcing and placing talent for the Insurance and Operations teams across the United States and Bermuda. The successful candidate will drive full life-cycle recruiting, apply strategic sourcing, manage stakeholder relationships, and use employer branding to attract top talent and deliver a strong candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee a recruitment strategy for all non-exempt positions within the Insurance divisions across the U.S. and Bermuda, building a robust talent pipeline to meet current and future staffing needs.
  • Lead full life-cycle recruitment for non-exempt hires, including sourcing, screening and assessment, candidate submittals, coordinating interviews, and negotiating offers on behalf of Markel.
  • Administer assessments for selected candidates as part of the evaluation process.
  • Provide regular updates and calibration of hiring needs to the hiring teams and HR Business Partners.
  • Utilize the company EVP to implement marketing strategies aligned with the brand, vision, and core values to attract diverse and high-caliber talent.
  • Leverage networking, Workday Recruiter, social media, job boards, employee referrals, search engine optimization, and LinkedIn recruiting tools to pipeline and hire top talent.
  • Represent Markel as an employer of choice at local career fairs and college campuses.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recruiting, sourcing, or high-volume sales experience; background in non-exempt/hourly or call center operations recruiting is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience supporting insurance or financial services recruiting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of talent search, including use of AI tools, internet search optimization, innovative sourcing programs, networking, pre-screening, offer negotiations, and candidate relationship management.
  • Strong proficiency with various sourcing techniques, tools, and platforms, including AI, Boolean search, market research, LinkedIn Recruiter, and social media.
  • Exceptional client service and candidate relationship management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, with Workday experience preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply applicable federal, state, and local laws.
