Job Description
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson is hiring a full-time Recruiter/Human Resource Recruiter based in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ. In this on-site role, you will support end-to-end recruiting by sourcing, screening, and managing candidates, including interview scheduling and tracking recruitment pipeline activity. The position also includes a Volunteer Program Liaison component, with some travel to designated sites.
Role Overview
Responsibilities include conducting presentations to candidates, prescreening applicants through resume and phone interviews, and maintaining organized communication throughout the hiring process. You will manage recruitment activities for staff and supervisory openings, assist with training hiring leadership on the recruitment process, and help monitor recruiting metrics. In addition, you will support volunteer placement across four agencies, assist with volunteer training tracking and program materials, maintain the volunteer program website, and oversee the internship program for all four agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual and in-person group or individual presentations
- Prescreen candidates using resume review and phone interviews
- Follow up on interview outcomes and monitor the recruitment pipeline
- Track interview outcomes, candidate correspondence, and follow-up activities
- Assist with managing the candidate pool for staff and supervisory vacancies
- Create job descriptions and job announcements for posting
- Manage Clear Company (Applicant Tracking System) and keep candidate information current
- Perform Medicaid checks (agency specific)
- Support recruiting through social media recruitment and networking (including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- Source and manage passive candidates through database diving (external) and succession planning program (internal)
- Attend and source from networking events, career fairs, and college fairs (virtual and in-person)
- Schedule interviews for hiring directors and arrange in-person and Zoom/Teams interviews as needed
- Maintain and refresh the sub list and assist supervisors with sub contact needs
- Refresh job ads to increase search visibility (weekly frequency)
- Keep track of recruiting metrics and provide backup support for training program tracking and onboarding across agencies
- Cross-train with HR Generalists and support various HR team projects
- Place and circulate volunteers among four agencies
- Assist with volunteer recruitment events and volunteer training tracking
- Maintain volunteer program materials and the program website
- Provide oversight for the agency’s internship program across all four agencies
Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in recruitment (5+ years ideal)
- Experience conducting interviews (behavioral and situational preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced skills in social media recruitment
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/Outlook) desired
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational abilities and high degree of professionalism
- Experience or willingness to build community partnerships and communicate with a diverse population
- Ability to provide high-level customer service
- Upbeat, empathetic, detail-driven self-starter
- Comfort working in a potentially high-pressure environment while managing multiple priorities
- Valid NJ driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Willingness and ability to travel to designated sites
- Successful completion/passing of criminal background and reference checks, DMV check, fingerprinting, pre-employment physical, drug test, etc.

Pay
- $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
