Job Description
Part-time Talent Acquisition Recruiter in Morgantown, WV (hybrid) at West Virginia University focuses on delivering full lifecycle recruitment across campus and partnering with hiring leaders to meet campus hiring needs.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with campus leaders to understand business needs and proactively support assigned client areas.
- Deliver full lifecycle recruitment, sourcing, and talent acquisition solutions for roles across WVU campuses.
- Use proven sourcing methods, passive candidate strategies, and social platforms to proactively expand talent networks and pipelines.
- Leverage market data, vendors, multiple sourcing channels, and current technology to rapidly build and sustain external talent pools.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social media, sourcing approaches, search techniques, and tools.
- Provide guidance to leaders on all aspects of recruitment and hiring processes.
- Oversee the hiring process from kickoff to final offer, ensuring a positive experience for leaders and candidates.
- Conduct consultative intake meetings for new positions, in person or virtually.
- Assist with training client groups on search methods, recruiting processes, and best practices.
- Deliver weekly search status updates, identify risks, and drive solution-focused results.
- Screen initial candidates, verify qualifications, and assess salary expectations.
- Manage interviews to ensure candidates are thoroughly vetted before presentation.
- Respond quickly to interview scheduling requests to maintain momentum.
- Develop interview guides and debrief with interview panelists.
- Provide timely feedback to candidates throughout the process.
- Assist leaders in determining appropriate salary offers with input from Classification & Compensation as needed.
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required; preferred fields include Human Resources, Industrial Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related area.
- Minimum of two years of professional HR experience in Talent Acquisition, Sourcing, and Recruitment.
- Experience executing strategic recruitment plans.
- Experience with ATS systems, job promotion, and sourcing tools; Workday Recruiting, LinkedIn, and Indeed are preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and practices.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the start date of employment.
- Strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Proactive, independent, and capable of taking initiative.
- Excellent public communication skills suitable for representing WVU to diverse business, educational, and community partners.
- Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to build effective relationships with team members, leaders, and candidates.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn internal HRIS and talent management systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate university needs.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification is preferred.
