Executive Recruiting Researcher
Job Description
As an Executive Recruiting Researcher on Google’s Executive Recruiting Team (ERT), you will help identify, engage, and hire the next generation of L8+ leadership. The role focuses on talent market research, sourcing research, and advising leadership with domain and market insights for critical executive searches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own search strategies and deliver research against those strategies for executive searches across technical functions such as engineering, product management, and research science.
- Provide project management for executive searches, driving work forward and maintaining consistent experiences for hiring managers or clients, applicants, and colleagues.
- Partner with leadership recruiters to share domain and market insights and trends, and advise executives on talent needs for key business priorities.
- Build long-term relationships with passive candidates and current talent to support future hiring.
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to innovation that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of systems, services, and processes.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in research or recruiting within technical executive search research, either at an executive search firm or in an in-house recruiting team.
- 1 year of experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, industry publications, or related sources for market mapping and talent identification.
- Experience in executive recruiting, including outreach, engagement, evaluation, and presentation.
- Experience maximizing both team output and individual performance while working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience in research science, data science, PhD hiring, or fellows hiring.
- Ability to demonstrate credibility and consultative influence with senior stakeholders and colleagues without formal authority.
- An open learning mindset, including a demonstrated capacity to quickly understand new complex subject matter and new markets, roles, and business initiatives.

Compensation
Salary: USD 111,000 - 159,000 per year.
Additional pay: 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
Individual pay is determined based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Location
This role is based in Los Angeles, CA (onsite). It may also be located in Google’s Playa Vista, CA campus. Preferred working locations include Chicago, IL; Ann Arbor, MI; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boulder, CO; Mountain View, CA; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; and Washington D.C.
