Temp HR Partner (Recruiting & Onboarding)
Job Description
TalentoHCM seeks a Temp HR Partner to support recruiting and onboarding during a Workday transition for a university. This remote, six-month contract serves as the primary HR resource for hiring managers, handling requisitions, postings, offers, pre-employment activities, and onboarding rather than full-cycle recruiting. Location: Seattle, WA (remote); compensation: USD 30 - 40 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hiring managers to initiate and finalize job requisitions within Workday.
- Review requisitions for completeness and alignment with university hiring practices.
- Post employment opportunities and track active postings.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Provide guidance on hiring procedures, timelines, and required documentation.
- Coordinate candidate progression through the Workday hiring workflow.
- Draft and extend written employment offers.
- Ensure all required hiring documents are completed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate pre-employment activities for selected candidates.
- Initiate and monitor background checks and related pre-employment requirements.
- Inform candidates about onboarding requirements, documentation, and next steps.
- Maintain accurate hiring and onboarding records in Workday and other HR systems.
- Act as the primary owner of the university's new hire experience.
- Coordinate and facilitate first-day orientation, campus tours, and welcome activities.
- Organize new hire engagement activities and quarterly social events to foster connection and community.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure new employees receive the resources and support needed for a successful transition.
- Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding processes and the new hire experience.
- Support the university's transition from Cornerstone to Workday with the go-live on July 6, 2026.
- Assist with process documentation, testing, and continuous improvement of hiring and onboarding workflows.
- Provide guidance to hiring managers navigating new Workday processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, user experience, and data accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience supporting hiring, onboarding, or talent acquisition processes.
- Hands-on experience with Workday or a comparable HCM system.
- Strong organizational, project management, and administrative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Direct experience with Workday Recruiting and Onboarding modules.
- Experience in higher education or another complex organizational environment.
- Background supporting HR system implementations or transitions.
- Knowledge of employment-related compliance requirements and hiring best practices.
