Job Description

At SMSC Gaming Enterprise in Prior Lake, Minnesota, the Talent Acquisition Sourcer plays a pivotal role in finding passive talent, building pipelines for future needs, and deploying creative sourcing strategies. This onsite position supports Mystic Lake Casino and the broader SMSC organization by collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to attract top talent and diversify the candidate slate.

Responsibilities

  • Leads sourcing across traditional job boards and applicant tracking systems while exploring new channels within defined geographic or functional focus areas.
  • Generates sourcing leads through associations, groups, schools, and other networks to ensure a diverse slate of candidates at all levels.
  • Collaborates with TA and HR leaders to design, execute, and adjust a sourcing strategy aligned with the overall talent acquisition plan.
  • Tracks analytics such as conversion rates, passive candidate engagement, total candidates sourced, and progression through the recruitment funnel.
  • Builds and maintains a talent pool for anticipated or future hiring needs.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to talent acquisition, HR, and enterprise partners, leveraging internet search, social media, networking, pipelining, advertising, and job postings; continuously incorporates new strategies.
  • Keeps abreast of employment market trends and sourcing practices for specific geographies, demographics, or functions, applying best practices from the marketplace as appropriate.
  • Engages in social networking (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and acts as TA SME on how to source and measure social channels effectively.
  • Evaluates and recommends new sourcing tools, leading their implementation and integration into the department.
  • Supports Talent Acquisition Consultants in identifying top talent, enabling high-volume growth, and meeting time-sensitive deadlines for Enterprise operations.
  • Documents all sourcing activity within the ATS according to guidelines to manage applicant and candidate workflow.
  • Champions the SMSC and SMSC Gaming Enterprise brands, ensuring professional and accurate representation.

Requirements

  • Six years of professional experience in a talent acquisition or recruitment function, or three or more years of sourcing experience in a corporate recruiting, professional search, or agency staffing environment, with exposure to executive/professional pipeline development, cold calling for hard-to-fill or high-volume roles, and related areas.
  • Experience with assessment tools and strategies, candidate or company branding, social networking and other internet channels, and employment market research.
  • Experience in analyzing and implementing new sourcing tools and methods, and measuring sourcing effectiveness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • A disciplined work style with the ability to balance proactive efforts and deadline-driven tasks, along with strong knowledge of social media tools and other internet employment advertising and networking tools with an emphasis on diversity recruiting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and extensive internet research experience.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office, internet tools, ATS, HRIS, and related systems; high initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple demands with flexibility and resilience.
  • Strong internal and external communication and presentation abilities.
  • Valid Class D driver’s license may be required, with a good driving record.

Occasional Task Description

  • Make cold calls within the industry and to competitor companies to identify prospective talent.
  • Handle confidential information with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Participate in and lead special projects related to recruiting, sourcing, interviewing, and other talent acquisition best practices.
