Job Description

At Baton Rouge Community College, part of the Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges System, the Talent Acquisition and Employee Success Consultant leads the people strategy that supports student-focused outcomes. This onsite, strategic HR role spans end-to-end recruitment, employee experience initiatives, onboarding, learning and development, and workforce planning to advance BRCC’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment for classified staff, unclassified staff, faculty, and executive appointments.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to assess workforce needs and tailor targeted recruitment plans.
  • Hold strategy sessions to identify essential competencies, qualifications, and staffing requirements.
  • Create inventive sourcing approaches to engage both active and passive candidates.
  • Develop and sustain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill, specialized, and executive roles.
  • Leverage LinkedIn Recruiter, professional associations, workforce development organizations, social platforms, higher education networks, and community partnerships to source qualified candidates.
  • Craft engaging job postings and recruitment campaigns that position BRCC as an employer of choice.
  • Coordinate search committees, interview logistics, candidate communications, and the selection process.
  • Review applications, conduct initial interviews, and present candidate recommendations.
  • Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, time-to-hire, candidate quality, applicant flow, source effectiveness, and candidate experience.
  • Analyze labor market trends and propose proactive recruitment approaches.
  • Develop workforce planning strategies to anticipate future hiring needs and succession opportunities.
  • Work with campus leadership to forecast staffing needs and identify emerging talent requirements.
  • Recommend innovative recruitment technologies and process improvements to boost hiring effectiveness.
  • Create and deploy employer branding strategies that position BRCC as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborate with Public Relations to promote BRCC’s culture, mission, values, and employee success initiatives.
  • Develop recruitment marketing campaigns highlighting career opportunities, employee achievements, professional development, and organizational culture.
  • Produce recruitment materials for career fairs, conferences, social channels, and digital platforms.
  • Attend career fairs, workforce development events, community organizations, and professional conferences on BRCC’s behalf.
  • Cultivate relationships with colleges, universities, professional organizations, military transition programs, and community partners to broaden talent pipelines.
  • Promote BRCC’s employee value proposition through innovative outreach and engagement activities.
  • Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding activities with hiring managers to ensure a smooth start.
  • Develop and deliver professional development and leadership training programs.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify workforce development and organizational learning needs.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives aligned with BRCC’s Strategic Pillars and values.
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and service award ceremonies.
  • Administer employee engagement surveys, pulse surveys, focus groups, and stay interviews.
  • Analyze feedback and propose strategies to improve satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
  • Coordinate wellness initiatives and workplace culture programs.
  • Develop employee communications that strengthen engagement and connectedness.
  • Ensure compliance with Louisiana Civil Service Rules, LCTCS policies, and BRCC HR procedures.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee engagement records.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards related to recruitment, workforce planning, engagement, and retention.
  • Maintain confidentiality while exercising sound professional judgment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Six years of professional experience in talent acquisition, strategic sourcing, or human resources.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, higher education, or a related field may substitute for up to three years of professional experience in talent acquisition, strategic sourcing, or human resources.
