Driver Recruiter

The Driver Recruiter role at TMC Transportation in Columbia, SC is centered on sourcing, evaluating, and referring candidates for driver positions, with onsite responsibilities in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively reach out to qualified candidates to gauge interest and fit for driver roles.
• Review applications and conduct telephone interviews to obtain work history, education, training, and job skills while sharing information about the organization and the driver position.
• Coordinate reference checks and background screenings for applicants as part of the assessment process.
• Provide information about company facilities and available driver opportunities to prospective applicants.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment workflow.
• Arrange travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants as needed.

Requirements

• A 2 or 4 year degree is preferred, ideally in Transportation or Human Resources, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to function effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment and manage stress.
• Clear and persuasive communication with candidates at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong listening abilities.
• Courteous yet assertive telephone manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience in Driver Recruiting and familiarity with Tenstreet ATS is a plus.
