Contract Talent Acquisition Recruiter

Ryan Lawn & Tree Inc is seeking a Contract Talent Acquisition Recruiter to manage the early stages of the hiring process, from reviewing applications to screening candidates, while providing essential HR support. This on-site role in Merriam, Kansas reports to the Talent Acquisition Supervisor and is structured as a contract engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assess submitted applications and screen resumes to identify candidates who meet the role requirements and fit the company culture.
• Arrange and conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate qualifications, experience, and overall fit, then present qualified candidates to hiring managers.
• Support hiring administration tasks, including drafting offer letters, initiating background checks, and coordinating onboarding activities for new hires.
• Keep candidate records and requisition statuses accurate within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
• Provide ongoing pipeline updates and status reports to the Talent Acquisition Supervisor.
• Foster positive relationships with candidates and hiring teams throughout the process.
• Assist with additional recruiting initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience, in-house or agency.
• Experience sourcing candidates and managing full early-stage recruitment pipelines.
• Comfortable conducting structured phone screens and assessing candidate fit.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS); Paylocity experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open requisitions concurrently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, candidate-friendly approach.
• Self-starter who can work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with background check platforms and offer letter processing is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
