Job Description

SouthernCarlson, Inc. is seeking a Temp Recruiter to support its Talent Acquisition team during a period of increased hiring activity. This hybrid role in Omaha, NE focuses on moving candidates through the recruiting process, from application review and prescreens to interview coordination and ongoing candidate communication.

In this temporary assignment (2–3 months), you will review applicants, conduct phone and virtual prescreens, manage recruiting activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and help ensure candidates have clear, timely updates throughout each stage.

What You’ll Do

  • Review incoming applications and resumes to identify candidates who meet minimum and preferred qualifications.
  • Evaluate candidate experience, skills, and alignment with job requirements.
  • Maintain timely applicant dispositioning within the ATS.
  • Communicate with candidates on application status and next steps.
  • Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess communication skills.
  • Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess compensation expectations.
  • Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess availability and work authorization.
  • Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess overall fit for the role and organization.
  • Document interview notes and provide recommendations to hiring teams.
  • Use standardized interview guides and evaluation criteria during the screening process.
  • Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers, coordinate calendars, and manage interview logistics.
  • Send interview confirmations and preparation materials to candidates.
  • Manage candidate communications throughout the interview process and keep candidates engaged and informed while awaiting feedback or hiring decisions.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates and ensure prompt, professional communication.
  • Support recruitment branding efforts through positive candidate interactions.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and activity in the ATS.
  • Generate candidate pipelines for recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Support recruitment projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with job postings, sourcing activities, and talent pipeline development as needed.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics and support reporting requirements.
  • Track interview feedback and follow up with hiring managers as needed.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, staffing, or customer-facing professional experience.
  • Experience conducting phone screens, interviews, or candidate assessments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Applicant Tracking Systems.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience recruiting in industrial, construction, distribution, manufacturing, or similar industries.
  • Experience using Dayforce, Workday, or similar ATS platforms.
  • High-volume recruiting experience.
  • Experience coordinating interviews across multiple locations.
