Job Description

Northwestern Mutual invites applications for a Recruiter (Talent Acquisition Specialist) to join its onsite team in Athens, Georgia. The role centers on sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates for financial planning and wealth management, with a clear path into leadership. Emphasis is placed on relationship-building and collaboration with office leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage candidate pipelines through referrals, networking, and community engagement in the Athens area
  • Identify and attract top talent via digital sourcing, referrals, and professional networks
  • Conduct initial interviews and candidate screenings
  • Administer and interpret assessment tools as part of the selection process
  • Coordinate follow-up interviews and meetings with leadership
  • Represent Northwestern Mutual at Athens-area networking and community events
  • Deliver a structured, professional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
  • Partner closely with office leadership to execute recruiting initiatives
  • Maintain accurate candidate records using recruiting and CRM software
  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics to improve hiring outcomes
  • Support new hires as they transition into their roles
  • Assist with recruitment reporting, leadership meetings, and strategic planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly
  • Prior experience in recruiting, sales, staffing, HR, business development, or networking roles preferred
  • Well-connected in the Athens business or professional community
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and recruiting/CRM tools
