Recruiter (Talent Acquisition Specialist)
Job Description
Northwestern Mutual invites applications for a Recruiter (Talent Acquisition Specialist) to join its onsite team in Athens, Georgia. The role centers on sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates for financial planning and wealth management, with a clear path into leadership. Emphasis is placed on relationship-building and collaboration with office leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage candidate pipelines through referrals, networking, and community engagement in the Athens area
- Identify and attract top talent via digital sourcing, referrals, and professional networks
- Conduct initial interviews and candidate screenings
- Administer and interpret assessment tools as part of the selection process
- Coordinate follow-up interviews and meetings with leadership
- Represent Northwestern Mutual at Athens-area networking and community events
- Deliver a structured, professional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
- Partner closely with office leadership to execute recruiting initiatives
- Maintain accurate candidate records using recruiting and CRM software
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics to improve hiring outcomes
- Support new hires as they transition into their roles
- Assist with recruitment reporting, leadership meetings, and strategic planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly
- Prior experience in recruiting, sales, staffing, HR, business development, or networking roles preferred
- Well-connected in the Athens business or professional community
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and recruiting/CRM tools
