Early Careers Recruiter, Associate
Job Description
New York Life is looking for an Associate to join its Early Careers recruitment team in New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement. This role focuses on full-cycle campus recruitment for early-career programs, working closely with the Head of Programmatic Recruitment and business leaders to build a diverse talent pipeline across programs such as Group Benefits Solutions (GBS), NYL Direct, Human Resources, Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for interns and early-career hires across designated programs, including Group Benefits Solutions (GBS), NYL Direct, HR, Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Compliance.
- Execute recruitment activities aligned with the broader early-talent strategy established by the Head of Programmatic Recruitment.
- Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to shape recruiting strategies that align with business objectives and ensure a structured, fair, and consistent selection process.
- Provide a high-touch, personalized candidate experience from sourcing through onboarding.
- Collaborate with the Head of Programmatic Recruitment and the Early Career Team to cultivate and maintain relationships with target universities, faculty, career services, and student organizations.
- Represent New York Life at on-campus events, career fairs, conferences, and virtual recruiting engagements to strengthen the firm’s employer brand and attract top early-career talent.
- Travel approximately 25% to support campus recruiting initiatives and in-person engagement opportunities.
- Build trusted partnerships with hiring managers, program leaders, and business stakeholders to understand workforce planning needs and provide strategic recruiting support.
- Work with HR Business Partners, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion partners, and the Early Career Program Management team to ensure alignment across recruiting, onboarding, and talent development initiatives.
- Offer guidance and training to hiring managers and interviewers on interviewing best practices, inclusive hiring, and candidate evaluation.
- Partner with internal teams to evaluate and implement recruiting technologies and assessment tools that enhance candidate selection and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Recruitment Lead and the broader Early Careers team to deliver a seamless onboarding experience for interns and full-time early-career hires.
- Play a key role in planning and executing the summer internship program, including onboarding, orientation, professional development programming, networking events, communications, and intern engagement.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for interns throughout the program, fostering a positive and inclusive experience while supporting managers and business needs.
- Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting activity within applicant tracking and talent management systems such as SuccessFactors, Eightfold, and CareerHub.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics, including pipeline health, offer acceptance, intern conversion, candidate experience, and hiring manager satisfaction, to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance recruiting effectiveness, operational efficiency, and overall early-talent outcomes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in campus or early-career recruiting, preferably supporting corporate, financial services, or professional talent programs.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (for example CareerHub) and virtual interview platforms (MS Teams).

Pay Transparency
- Salary Range: $65,000-$83,000 per year
- Overtime eligible: Exempt
- Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
- Sales bonus eligible: No
- Actual base salary will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and may participate in an incentive program.
