Corporate Recruiter – Mortgage Industry

Northgate Mortgage LLC is looking for a proactive In-House Corporate Recruiter to support hiring for a growing team, with a primary focus on mortgage loan officers. This is a hands-on role centered on outbound outreach and guiding qualified candidates through each stage of the hiring process. The position is based in Farmington Hills, MI and requires onsite presence.

Role Overview

The Corporate Recruiter will identify and engage prospective employees, conduct initial screenings and interviews, and coordinate next steps through to offer communication and onboarding. The work emphasizes proactive candidate sourcing, relationship management, and accurate explanations of roles, expectations, and compensation using company-approved information.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify prospective employees through direct outreach, professional networks, job boards, social media, referrals, and networking events.
• Contact potential candidates personally by phone and email, including individuals who have not applied to current openings.
• Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess experience, qualifications, communication skills, professionalism, and fit for the role.
• Explain available positions, work expectations, compensation structure, benefits, and career opportunities using information approved by Northgate.
• Review applications, schedule interviews, recommend qualified candidates, coordinate hiring decisions with leadership, and communicate approved offers.
• Build relationships with prospective hires, respond to questions, and maintain candidate engagement from first conversation through their scheduled start date.
• Maintain organized candidate records and provide management updates on outreach activity, interviews, offers, and completed hires.

Requirements

• Prior experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or a relationship-driven sales role.
• Proven ability to proactively identify and approach candidates rather than relying only on incoming applications.
• Comfort with outbound calling, initiating conversations, conducting interviews, and following up professionally.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to represent Northgate professionally and accurately.
• Excellent organization and time management, with the ability to manage multiple candidates and competing hiring priorities.
• Familiarity with job boards, professional networking platforms, and applicant tracking tools.

Preferred Experience

• Experience recruiting mortgage loan officers or other financial services professionals is preferred, but not required.

Compensation and Location

Location: Farmington Hills, MI (onsite). Salary: USD 40,000 - 150,000 per year.
