Job Description

Join the HR team in a hands-on, temporary, part-time recruiting role supporting manufacturing hiring at a site in San Diego.

Responsibilities

  • Source qualified candidates for manufacturing, operations, quality, engineering, technical, supervisory, and support roles
  • Proactively identify and engage passive talent through resume databases, direct outreach, professional networks, and referrals
  • Post, maintain, and refresh job advertisements across recruiting platforms
  • Review resumes and applications against established position requirements and hiring criteria
  • Conduct initial phone screens to evaluate experience, qualifications, availability, compensation expectations, location, and overall fit
  • Recommend qualified candidates for advancement in the interview process
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates, HR, hiring managers, and relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain timely candidate communication and follow-up throughout the recruiting lifecycle
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill manufacturing positions
  • Reach out to trade schools, colleges, workforce programs, veteran resources, and other potential talent sources
  • Keep candidate records, recruiting activity, and status updated in the applicant tracking system
  • Partner with HR and hiring managers to align recruiting priorities and keep open positions moving
  • Support offer and pre-employment coordination as needed
  • Track recruiting activity, candidate flow, sourcing efforts, and open-position status
  • Deliver a responsive, organized recruiting experience and represent 5th Axis professionally
  • Complete other recruiting-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience
  • Demonstrated recruiting experience in manufacturing or a closely related technical environment (examples: CNC machining, aerospace, industrial production)
  • Experience recruiting skilled roles such as CNC machinists, quality personnel, maintenance technicians, production employees, manufacturing professionals, and supervisors
  • Experience actively sourcing candidates (not only managing inbound applications)
  • Experience using job boards, resume databases, direct outreach, referrals, networking, and school/workforce sourcing channels
  • Ability to review manufacturing resumes and identify technical, production, and leadership experience
  • Experience conducting phone screens and making initial qualification decisions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple roles and candidate pipelines simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with HR and hiring managers
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, and online recruiting tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Paycor experience is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Schedule

  • Temporary, part-time role anticipated at approximately 20–25 hours per week
  • Regular availability during normal business hours for outreach, phone screens, interview coordination, and communication with hiring managers

Location: San Diego, CA (onsite) | Compensation: USD 35–45 per hour
