Job Description

The Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter I role is a contract position in Charlotte, NC (on-site) focused on overseeing daily employment office functions while providing high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders. This recruiter will manage key steps of the hiring process for nuclear power engineering and related disciplines, from sourcing through operational hiring activities.

Role Overview

In this position, you will source and evaluate candidates, coordinate interviews, manage employment requisitions, and support operational portions of the hire process. The role also includes contributing to employment staffing plans, maintaining accurate hiring documentation, and supporting re-deployment initiatives through proactive communication with employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, screen, and conduct preliminary interviews with potential candidates.
  • Coordinate site interviews with the appropriate hiring manager to select candidates aligned to project-specific requirements.
  • Make contingent employment offers in accordance with federal and state law.
  • Manage assigned employment requisitions, including reviewing, editing, and completing final approval of requisition documentation.
  • Track and report data on staffing plan processes using computer software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software databases.
  • Assist with building and managing Employment Staffing Plans by entering employment and hiring requirement information.
  • Build and update job descriptions based on project and scope of work.
  • Coordinate and conduct re-deployment initiatives through proactive communication with employees prior to anticipated end dates.
  • Complete operational and administrative hiring steps including background checks, drug screening, health screening, I-9 compliance, E-Verify compliance, employment paperwork, and site-specific requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the portion of the employment process for internal partners at the job site, including leading specific recruiting efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including recent experience hiring engineering professionals in the nuclear power industry.
  • Direct recruiting experience for I&C, electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural engineering, with a focus on plant modifications, design engineering, and system upgrades.
  • Proven ability to evaluate candidates against nuclear-specific requirements, including experience supporting design packages, field walkdowns, system ownership, and familiarity with NRC regulations and nuclear plant operations.
  • Experience recruiting for digital controls, legacy system upgrades, and instrumentation/control systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting project-based hiring where schedules, mobilization dates, site needs, and technical depth are critical.
  • Proven ability to work independently as the sole engineering recruiter supporting business leaders and hiring managers.
  • Strong sourcing experience, including demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive candidates through multiple channels.
  • Strong sense of urgency with effective follow-up, responsiveness, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn ATS systems quickly.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
