Job Description

Talent Acquisition Recruiter in Overland Park, KS (hybrid) focused on proactive sourcing, full-cycle recruitment, and delivering a strong candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement proactive sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Build and maintain a network of prospective candidates through proactive outreach.
  • Create and sustain a talent pipeline for future openings.
  • Guide candidates through every stage of the lifecycle from job creation to offer, ensuring a positive, well-informed experience.
  • Develop, post, and maintain high-quality job descriptions and postings with consistency and compliance.
  • Track recruitment performance using KPIs and adjust efforts to meet goals and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage recruiting technology such as ATS, CRM, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Review applications and monitor candidate progress using the internal applicant tracking system.
  • Partner with business leaders, department heads, and hiring managers to clarify requirements and craft effective recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with the business, HR, and hiring managers to shape compensation recommendations and negotiate offers ensuring competitive packages.
  • Provide regular updates on candidate pipeline and progress, adjusting strategies as needed to hit hiring goals.
  • Maintain a positive candidate experience and nurture relationships for future opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including EEO, OFCCP, and affirmative action requirements.
  • Operate in alignment with Black & Veatch's vision, mission, and core values, emphasizing safety, respect, and quality.
  • Lead and support change initiatives through planning, communication, and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of HR experience with candidate interviewing, employment law, EEO/AAP, and problem solving/conflict management.
  • If selected, must complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include:
    • Criminal/civil background check
    • Drug screen
    • Motor vehicle records search

Preferred Qualifications

  • Full-cycle recruiting experience, including high-volume requisitions and strong candidate management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Work Environment / Physical Demands
