Job Description
The Talent Acquisition Partner recruits and screens applicants for Jefferson roles, assesses fit against job requirements, routes qualified candidates to interviews, and supports related projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary recruitment source for the entire Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) department.
- Recruit, screen, and refer applicants for Jefferson positions, applying knowledge of specific job requirements.
- Conduct lawful employment interviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with Jefferson department heads, supervisors, and personnel in other organizations, agencies, and educational institutions.
- Review hiring criteria and collaborate with hiring supervisors to craft recruitment plans and establish appropriate grade levels.
- Collect information to support recruitment and use creative sourcing to identify qualified applicants.
- Ensure supervisors receive applications and adhere to Jefferson Service Standards as appropriate.
- Negotiate salary offers with supervisors and compensation staff; extend offers including start date and orientation attendance.
- Verify references, education, and licenses or certifications of candidates.
- Prepare recruitment advertisements for newspapers, websites, journals, and postings.
- Manage the advertising budget allocated to recruitment responsibilities.
- Engage with external employment and advertising representatives.
- Interact with colleagues, visitors, and staff in alignment with the university's core values.
- Enter applicant and new hire data into PeopleSoft and coordinate new hire processing schedules.
- Prepare employment agreements, offer letters, and onboarding paperwork, including scheduling physicals and sign-in.
- Conduct courtesy interviews as needed.
- Provide consulting to Jefferson Management regarding the hiring process and counsel employees facing displacement or pursuing career development.
- Deliver training to Jefferson Management on hiring, selection, and onboarding policies and related employment materials.
- Prepare activity reports and develop projects as requested by the Manager.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate proactive and creative recruitment strategies, especially in critical job categories.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of recruitment experience in a comparable organization and duties similar to those listed.
- Experience utilizing support staff is beneficial.
- Experience using databases, the web, and other creative resources to source qualified applicants.
- Experience managing advertising usage and budgets.
- Two years or more of experience with a Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
