Driver Recruiter

Gulf Relay, LLC is hiring a Driver Recruiter for an in-office, full-time role in Clinton, MS 39056. In this position, you’ll help build a reliable pipeline of qualified professional CDL-A drivers by owning full-cycle recruiting, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and keeping candidates informed throughout the process to support attendance and retention.

What you’ll do

• Source and prospect CDL-A drivers using job boards, social media, referrals, and driver databases
• Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings
• Manage and respond to inbound leads from recruiting ads and campaigns
• Conduct initial phone screens to evaluate driving experience, driving record, and overall fit
• Verify CDL class, endorsements, and years of experience
• Pre-screen candidates against DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements, including MVR, PSP, and background status
• Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and employment verifications
• Guide candidates through the hiring process from first contact through the start date
• Partner with safety/compliance teams to confirm driver qualification files are complete
• Maintain consistent candidate communication to help reduce drop-off and no-show rates
• Keep accurate candidate records in the ATS and recruiting system
• Collaborate with operations/dispatch to understand lane needs, freight types, and hiring priorities
• Work with safety and HR teams on qualification standards and onboarding logistics

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience as a driver recruiter in the transportation industry
• Experience using Tenstreet to review and process driver applications
• Strong interpersonal skills with both verbal and written communication
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Confident, energetic engagement with both passive and active candidates
• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Ability to solve practical problems
• Ability to multi-task and operate self-motivated
• Capability to perform in a metrics-driven recruiting production environment
