Truck Driver Recruiter

EMS ON TIME INC. is hiring a Truck Driver Recruiter to support staffing for CDL Class A Local and OTR driver positions. This onsite role in Carol Stream, IL focuses on attracting qualified applicants and managing them through initial qualification and onboarding. The recruiter will coordinate closely with management and safety teams to keep the process moving and to set clear expectations before hire.

What you’ll do

• Recruit qualified CDL Class A Local and OTR drivers
• Post and manage driver advertisements on Indeed and other recruiting platforms
• Contact new applicants quickly using phone, text, and email
• Conduct initial driver interviews and pre-screening
• Verify basic qualifications, including CDL experience, driving history, and employment history
• Explain routes, home-time expectations, compensation, equipment, and job requirements
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective drivers
• Track and manage an organized pipeline of applicants and recruiting activity
• Coordinate with management and safety personnel during qualification and onboarding
• Support improved driver retention by setting clear expectations prior to hire
• Develop strategies for generating qualified driver leads

What you bring

• Truck or transportation recruiting experience preferred
• Knowledge of CDL Class A Local and OTR recruiting strongly preferred
• Strong phone and communication skills
• Comfort making high-volume recruiting calls and follow-ups
• Ability to build rapport with professional truck drivers
• Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple applicants at once
• Familiarity with Indeed and other driver recruiting platforms is a plus
• Basic understanding of DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements is a plus
• Reliable, professional, and results-oriented approach
• Experience recruiting CDL Class A drivers is highly desirable

Compensation and incentives

• Pay range: $35,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
• Starting pay: $17 per hour
• $200 per driver after the three week hire date
• Competitive compensation based on experience, with a structure that may include salary or hourly pay plus performance-based recruiting incentives
