Job Description

Brass Finch Brands is building a strong, candidate-focused recruiting engine to support growth across e-commerce, marketing, customer support, supply chain, and corporate operations. In this hybrid role based in Chicago, you will manage full-cycle hiring for multiple openings at once, partnering closely with hiring managers to keep plans clear and processes moving. Expect to support roughly 8–12 active positions across different stages during the week.

Role Overview

This hands-on Talent Acquisition Specialist position sits within the People Operations function and reports to the Director of People Operations. You will coordinate every stage of hiring, including position intake, job posting, sourcing and screening, interview scheduling, feedback collection, and offer preparation, while maintaining accurate records and reporting outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with hiring managers to confirm responsibilities, requirements, compensation, and interview plans before a role is opened.
  • Write and publish clear job descriptions across appropriate job boards and sourcing channels.
  • Review applications, source passive candidates, and conduct initial interviews.
  • Manage candidate communication, interview scheduling, feedback collection, and offer preparation.
  • Develop pipelines for recurring hiring needs in customer support, sales, e-commerce, and distribution operations.
  • Advise hiring managers on market availability, compensation expectations, and realistic recruiting timelines.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and hiring data in the applicant tracking system.
  • Track recruiting metrics including time to fill, offer acceptance, sourcing results, and candidate experience.
  • Support career fairs, employee referrals, and select employer-branding projects.

What You Bring

  • At least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in an in-house or agency environment.
  • Experience running several searches simultaneously while communicating with multiple hiring managers.
  • Working knowledge of candidate sourcing, behavioral interviewing, and offer coordination.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system and professional sourcing platforms.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle candidate and compensation information confidentially.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Schedule, Work Arrangement, and Travel

  • Location: Chicago, Illinois (hybrid)
  • Work arrangement: Hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote each week
  • Employment type: Full-time, salaried and exempt
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional additional time during high-volume hiring periods
  • Travel: Up to 10% for recruiting events and visits to company facilities

Compensation

  • Base salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year (dependent on relevant experience and demonstrated skills)
  • Annual bonus: Target bonus of 8% based on individual objectives and company performance

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with multiple plan options, company premium contributions, and access to an HSA with an employer contribution.
  • 401(k) plan with a dollar-for-dollar company match on the first 4% of eligible compensation.
  • 18 days of paid time off, 10 company holidays, paid sick leave, and two company-wide personal days.
  • Twelve weeks of paid parental leave; company-paid life insurance; short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Hybrid work support, a monthly public-transit benefit, and flexible start and finish times with manager approval.
  • Up to $1,500 annually for approved professional development, certifications, conferences, or continuing education.
  • Employee assistance resources and a 40% discount on company products.

How Success Is Measured

  • Within the first 90 days: learn company departments, recruiting systems, compensation structure, and approval process, then begin managing active positions with support.
  • By six months: manage a balanced set of searches independently, provide market guidance, maintain timely candidate communication, and keep recruiting records complete and accurate.
  • Performance is assessed through hiring quality, candidate and manager feedback, process accuracy, offer acceptance, and reasonable time-to-fill targets.
  • The role is evaluated on the overall recruiting outcomes rather than the number of hires alone.

Selection Process

  • A 30-minute introductory call with a People Operations Partner.
  • A 45-minute interview with the Director of People Operations focused on full-cycle recruiting experience, workload management, and hiring-manager partnership.
  • A 60-minute structured panel interview with two People Operations team members and one frequent hiring manager, including a live prioritization scenario based on several open positions (no advance preparation required).
  • A final 30-minute conversation with the Vice President of People and Culture.
  • Final reference checks, followed by a conditional written offer and a standard pre-employment background check.
