Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Sentara Healthcare is a strategic recruiting partner responsible for full-cycle talent acquisition across assigned business units. The role focuses on proactive sourcing, pipeline development, and improving hiring outcomes while maintaining an excellent experience for candidates and hiring stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand current and future hiring requirements.
  • Anticipate workforce trends and create proactive recruiting strategies to address talent gaps.
  • Provide consultative guidance on talent market insights, candidate availability, and hiring best practices.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for assigned roles, from intake through offer.
  • Screen, facilitate interviews, and support the selection process for candidates.
  • Maintain a consistent, efficient, and high-quality hiring experience for candidates and stakeholders.
  • Research and apply new and diverse sourcing channels to attract top talent.
  • Conduct both tactical and strategic sourcing to build and sustain talent pipelines.
  • Proactively source passive candidates and develop relationships for current and future hiring needs.
  • Support workforce planning by participating in forecasting and recruitment planning efforts.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies aligned with business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance recruitment processes and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Lead or contribute to talent acquisition projects and initiatives.
  • Manage a high volume of requisitions across varied job types and levels of complexity.
  • Maintain strong organization and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Strongly Preferred)
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative partnership skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a high requisition volume
  • Proven success in sourcing, engaging, and hiring high-impact talent
  • Commitment to inclusive hiring practices and diverse talent pipelines
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Location, Schedule, and Travel

  • Location: Norfolk, VA (remote)
  • Work Shift: First (Days)
  • Travel: Regular travel required across Virginia and North Carolina
  • Preference: Residency within 50 miles of Virginia Beach, VA is strongly preferred
  • Scheduling: Flexibility to adjust hours as needed to support hiring events and business priorities, including your scheduling needs
