Job Description

Willoughby Industries, Inc is a family-owned company located in Northwest Indianapolis that relies on a thoughtful, hands-on approach to talent. The Talent Acquisition Specialist role onsite in Indianapolis leads the full recruitment lifecycle across manufacturing, management, and administrative positions, partnering with department leaders to attract top candidates and uphold our hiring strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall hiring strategy to meet staffing needs.
  • Collaborate with department managers to craft and refresh job descriptions.
  • Publish openings on recruiting sites, college career portals, and local community boards.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to promote roles on social media and the company website.
  • Plan and attend career fairs and community events to attract qualified applicants.
  • Work with Marketing to create recruitment materials.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local high schools, vocational schools, colleges, universities, and nonprofit partners to support recruitment.
  • Educate applicants about the company and its culture to generate interest.
  • Review resumes and applications to identify suitable candidates.
  • Arrange and conduct initial phone interviews with selected applicants.
  • Organize second-round interviews with qualified candidates and appropriate managers.
  • Extend verbal contingent offers to hourly candidates when appropriate.
  • Conduct pre-employment screenings.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system.

Work Environment

  • Predominantly seated work with some time on the manufacturing floor to understand job requirements

Education/Experience

  • 3+ years of recruiting or hiring experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of recruiting practices
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and an applicant tracking system
  • Strong decision-making skills

Experience

  • Full cycle recruiting experience of 3 years (required)
  • Human resources experience of 1 year (preferred)

Ability to Commute

Requires commuting to Indianapolis, IN 46268.

Work Location

In person on-site role located in Indianapolis, IN.
