This is an on-site role based in Bedford Hills, NY, at our family-run gate, fence, and automation company serving the tri-state area.
About us
Tri State Gate is a custom gate, fence, and automation company serving the tri-state area. We’re a family-run business with a small, tight-knit office team, the kind of place where you’ll know everyone by name in your first week. We’re growing, and growth means hiring across office staff, customer service, skilled trades, and field technicians. This is a new position at the center of that growth.
The role
The role
- Own our job postings end to end: write them, post them, manage the ad budgets, keep them fresh
- Review applicants daily and phone-screen the promising ones
- Coordinate interviews with our managers and keep every candidate moving
- Check references, help prepare offers, and stay in touch with new hires through their start date
- Source passive candidates for skilled trades roles through resume databases, outreach, and social channels
- Build and maintain a bench of qualified candidates for our key roles, checking in so they're warm when we need them
- Run our employee referral program and build relationships with trade schools and local training programs
- Create hiring content: job-site photos and video, employee spotlights, posts that attract applicants
- Support marketing, social media, and office projects as time allows; we’re small and everyone pitches in
What success looks like
- In your first 90 days: open roles have healthy candidate pipelines, screening and scheduling run like clockwork, and you’ve landed your first hires
- By 6 to 12 months: every key role has a warm bench behind it, the referral program is producing, time-to-fill keeps dropping, and we haven’t paid an outside recruiting fee since you started
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of recruiting experience, agency or in-house (agency recruiters looking to move in-house are welcome to talk)
- Experience recruiting for skilled trades, construction, industrial, or hourly roles is a big plus
- Excellent phone presence; you’ll spend much of your day talking with candidates, and they should hang up wanting the job
- Organized and self-managing; you’ll juggle several open roles and dozens of candidates without dropping any
- Comfortable with software: job boards, spreadsheets, CRM and applicant-tracking tools (we’ll get you up to speed on ours)
- Social media and content skills are a real plus (photos, short video, posts)
- A straight shooter who reads people well and tells us what you really think
- Technologies we use: job boards, spreadsheets, CRM, and applicant-tracking tools
Schedule
Full-time, on-site at our office, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No nights or weekends.
Compensation and benefitsCompensation and benefits

- Six paid holidays
How to apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume. When you apply, you’ll be asked one question: tell us about a role you filled that you’re proud of, what made it hard, and how you found the person. That answer is the first thing we read.
