Driver Recruiter

The Driver Recruiter role at Indian River Transport, based in Clovis, NM, focuses on sourcing, screening, and onboarding CDL-A drivers while coordinating with safety, operations, and HR teams in a fast-paced, full-time environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively source and recruit qualified CDL-A drivers through job boards, social media, referrals, and industry networks.
• Perform phone screenings and interviews to assess driving experience, safety records, and qualifications.
• Navigate candidates through the complete recruitment cycle from initial contact to orientation and onboarding.
• Maintain regular follow-up and clear communication with prospective hires to sustain engagement.
• Collaborate with safety, operations, and HR teams to ensure a smooth handoff and timely onboarding.
• Track candidate activity and progress using an applicant tracking system (ATS).
• Ensure hiring practices comply with DOT and FMCSA regulations as well as company standards.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in driver recruiting or high-volume transportation recruiting, with minimum quotas.
• Experience with full cycle recruiting: 1 year is required.
• Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations preferred.
• Excellent communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
• High sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience with ATS platforms and recruiting software; Tenstreet is preferred.
• Self-starter mindset with a results-driven attitude.
