Civil Litigation Attorney
Job Description
This Civil Litigation Attorney role focuses on representing personal injury and insurance bad faith clients in Central Washington and Eastern Oregon, with encouragement for Spanish-speaking candidates. The position involves comprehensive case management and litigation tasks, including mediation and trial, with a specific emphasis on traumatic brain injury and trucking matters.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a caseload of straightforward personal injury matters.
- Lead client intake meetings, case evaluations, and factual investigations.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, mediation briefs, and settlement demands.
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings.
- Provide strategic recommendations on case posture and potential recoveries.
- Argue dispositive and other motions in court; appear as needed to file settlements, motions, and related papers.
- Mediate, arbitrate, and try cases.
- Deliver excellent client service through clear communication, diligence, respect, advocacy, and results.
- Cultivate strong professional relationships with members of the community, experts, and referral sources.
- Acknowledge mistakes, take responsibility, and implement corrective action.
- Contribute as a respectful and collaborative team member.
- Uphold the highest standards of honesty and integrity in all actions.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active WSBA license in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience preferred.
- Excellent Spanish-speaking ability strongly preferred.
- Strong writing ability with minimal need for editing.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to perform independently.
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Arbitration and trial experience preferred.
- Thrives in a fast-paced plaintiff practice that aims for substantial results for clients.
