Job Description

Perplexity is looking for a University Recruiter based in San Francisco, CA to help shape and expand early-career campus hiring. In this onsite role, you will design university recruiting efforts and manage end-to-end hiring for early-career candidates, working closely with internal leaders to align hiring strategy with candidate evaluation.

Reporting into recruiting leadership at Perplexity, you will also plan campus touchpoints that go beyond standard outreach, supporting programs that attract and identify high-impact talent. The position carries a salary range of USD 165,000 to 200,000 per year and requires 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience.

What you’ll do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for all early-career candidates, from sourcing through closing.
  • Partner closely with Perplexity leaders on workforce planning, hiring strategy, and candidate evaluation.
  • Build and scale an early-career recruiting strategy that extends beyond typical playbooks, including creative approaches to strengthen the talent brand and cultivate relationships that help surface hidden superstar talent.
  • Plan and execute campus programming, including technical talks, coding competitions and hackathons, on-campus interviews, and VIP events.

What you bring

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience owning university, campus, intern, or early-career hiring.
  • A strong organizational mindset for a high-volume, high-pressure environment, managing multiple workstreams and candidates at once.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, with travel concentrated during the fall and spring recruiting seasons.

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships with top CS, ML, and engineering programs, research labs, or competitive programming communities such as ICPC and USACO.
