Job Description
Meda Health is hiring a Travel Healthcare Recruiter in Westlake, TX to own the end-to-end recruiting process for travel nurses and allied health professionals. This onsite role focuses on sourcing, qualifying, and placing candidates while delivering clear communication and ongoing support throughout assignments.
Location and Employment Details
- Location: Westlake, TX (onsite)
- Work schedule: Full-time, in office
- Compensation: USD 50,000 - 65,000 per year
Role Responsibilities
- Source travel nurses and allied health professionals through Meda Health’s applicant tracking system, existing database, and approved recruiting channels.
- Conduct high-volume outreach using calls, text messages, email, and digital platforms.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of new, warm, repeat, and reactivated candidates.
- Prioritize active, high-priority openings and candidates who align closely with current client needs.
- Evaluate candidates by specialty, experience, licensure, certifications, availability, location and shift preferences, and compensation expectations.
- Confirm candidate interest, responsiveness, and readiness before advancing in the process.
- Maintain accurate ATS records, notes, and supporting documentation for every candidate.
- Create complete, accurate, and submission-ready candidate profiles.
- Submit qualified candidates according to client and MSP/VMS requirements.
- Track candidates through submission, interview, offer, and confirmation steps.
- Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates and internal partners.
- Present travel assignments and compensation packages clearly.
- Negotiate offers by balancing candidate needs with Meda Health’s margin goals.
- Handle objections, competing offers, and counteroffers professionally.
- Secure commitments and confirm start dates.
- Coordinate with credentialing and compliance teams to move confirmed candidates through onboarding.
- Support audit-ready documentation and compliance by keeping candidate files complete and accurate.
- Serve as the traveler’s primary point of contact throughout the assignment.
- Respond to concerns, resolve issues, and provide support that supports retention.
- Initiate extension conversations before assignment end dates.
- Help travelers transition into the next Meda Health opportunity and reengage former travelers and candidates from the existing database.
- Build relationships that contribute to repeat assignments and referrals.
- Manage a full desk and be accountable for both recruiting activity and placement outcomes.
Requirements
- Prior healthcare staffing or travel-nurse recruiting experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence on the phone.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong organization and ability to run a high-volume pipeline under deadline pressure.
- Proficiency with ATS/CRM tools (LaborEdge / Nexus a plus), video conferencing, and digital sourcing.
- A sales mindset with high emotional intelligence and consistent urgency.
- Ability to work full-time, in office, at Meda’s Westlake, TX location.

Performance Expectations
- Manage a full desk with accountability for both recruiting activity and placement outcomes.
- Maintain consistent new placements, with an established expectation of two or more placements per week.
- Support strong traveler retention and extension performance.
- Follow up with new leads promptly, preferably on the same business day.
- Maintain consistent outbound calls, texts, and candidate outreach.
- Deliver complete, high-quality candidate profiles and submissions.
- Manage offers, starts, extensions, and redeployments effectively.
- Complete and disciplined ATS documentation, with adherence to lead-ownership requirements.

- Specific weekly targets are based on experience and tenure and are reviewed regularly with recruiting leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
- Direct travel-nurse or allied health recruiting experience for a U.S. agency.
- Familiarity with RN/allied licensure, certifications, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working MSP/VMS client programs.
