Technical Recruiter
Job Description
Agile Defense is hiring a Technical Recruiter to support a hybrid on-site recruiting presence in Fort Huachuca, AZ. Reporting to the VP of Talent Acquisition, this role runs full-cycle recruiting for technical and cleared requisitions, with an emphasis on rapidly building clearance fluency, maintaining stakeholder trust, ensuring compliance accuracy, and improving sourcing efficiency with AI tools.
Role Overview
You will work with a Lead Recruiter around prioritization while managing a caseload across the technical and cleared complexity spectrum, typically 12 to 18 concurrent requisitions. The recruiting team supports DoD, Fed Civ, Homeland Security, Combatant Command, and Fourth Estate customers. Your accountability is centered on your own caseload and one owned project/initiative per year, with broader portfolio-level responsibilities and mentoring reserved for a later stage.
Responsibilities
- Independently execute the full recruiting toolkit, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, negotiating, and closing, within 90 days across a full-cycle set of requisitions spanning technical and cleared complexity, with only light oversight from a Senior Technical Recruiter or Recruiting Lead.
- Develop real clearance fluency, including initial higher-tier search execution, and reach the point within 6 months where you can clearly explain the clearance process.
- Build and maintain direct, trusted working relationships with hiring managers on your requisitions by delivering market feedback, pipeline updates, and honest guidance without requiring translation from a more senior recruiter.
- Drive at least one defined project or initiative each year beyond your requisition workload (examples include piloting a new sourcing channel, refining a screening guide, or improving an intake process) from proposal through completion.
- Own compliance requirements on your requisitions with consistent accuracy, covering EEO/OFCCP, clearance documentation, and interview documentation with minimal correction needed.
- Integrate AI tools into daily work by adopting at least one recurring AI-assisted efficiency, explaining how it changes your day-to-day workflow, and using deliberate sourcing actions that widen and diversify candidate pipelines with specific, observable actions.
What You’ll Be Measured On
- First 90 Days: Independent full-cycle execution across requisitions of varying complexity with only light check-ins.
- First 6 Months: Hiring managers trust your judgment directly, and you’ve identified and proposed the small project you will own for the year.
- First 12 Months: You operate as a fully independent, reliable recruiter who can be assigned any tactical workload within the cleared/technical scope and is positioned for future portfolio ownership, mentoring, and senior stakeholder responsibility.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to independently run full-cycle recruiting across the full range of technical and cleared complexity, with comfort handling difficult requisitions.
- Working knowledge of the federal clearance process up through Top Secret/SCI and polygraph-level searches.
- A track record of earning hiring manager trust and operating as a partner rather than a processing-only recruiter.
- Experience proposing or improving something beyond your own requisition load, even if small.
- AI tool practices focused on efficiency, paired with sound judgment about where automation should and should not affect the candidate experience.
- Active interest in building more diverse candidate pipelines, supported by concrete examples of actions taken.
- Location: Hybrid with on-site program support in Ft Huachuca, AZ.
- Clearance: Must be clearable for a U.S. Secret security clearance (minimum).
Compensation
USD 90,000 - 105,000 per year.
