Job Description

What we offer: This part-time, on-site role in McCrory, AR pays $23 per hour and includes paid time off. Join Grand Prairie CASA to help strengthen families and safeguard children by attracting and guiding dedicated CASA volunteers, coordinating engaging training, and supporting retention, with direct reporting to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CASA staff to design and execute a plan that grows both new and diverse CASA Volunteer Advocates.
  • Plan and carry out at least four outreach activities each month, prioritizing diversification of the volunteer base.
  • Maintain outreach documentation and ensure timely submissions.
  • Respond to inquiries about becoming a CASA volunteer within 48 hours.
  • Coordinate volunteer information sessions, or CASA 101s, on a monthly basis.
  • Complete required CASA training and accumulate at least 12 hours of continuing education annually.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Grand Prairie CASA’s volunteer recruitment plan.
  • Work with CASA staff to create a coordinated plan aimed at increasing current volunteer retention, including an annual appreciation event and cards for case closings, birthdays, and service anniversaries.
  • Provide written reports on recruitment and outreach results to the Program Director each month.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and Advocate Supervisors when assigning new advocates.
  • Staff, maintain, and keep the CASA office organized and clean.
  • Represent CASA at community civic events within the four-county region.
  • Assist with fundraising events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of personalities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preference for candidates with experience presenting to large groups, providing professional development, or teaching adults.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and maintain a positive reputation within the communities served by the organization.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics related to child abuse.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the juvenile justice and social services systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Competency with personal computers.
  • Commitment to CASA’s goals and mission.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The recruiter is responsible for developing and implementing strategic recruitment activities to attract quality CASA volunteers, ensuring high standards of service for children served by the program. The role may request assistance while providing both pre-service and in-service training to volunteer advocates, and oversees all aspects of the training program.
