Job Description
The Deputy Commandant: Recruiting (DCR) at Georgia Military College leads recruiting, outreach, and enrollment management for GMC’s Junior College cadet programs. This on-site role is based in Milledgeville, GA. The position offers an annual salary of USD 70,000 and requires either a Bachelor’s Degree or three to eight years of relevant experience. The DCR serves as the primary liaison for external recruitment engagement and oversees marketing, eligibility coordination, and data-driven decision making to support corps growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive comprehensive recruiting and enrollment plans to meet accession and retention targets across all cadet programs, including direct oversight of recruiting staff and pipeline development.
- Lead external engagement and outreach to prospective cadets, families, high schools, military partners, and community stakeholders to promote GMC cadet programs.
- Oversee Corps marketing, communications, and brand stewardship, including website and social media, ensuring alignment with institutional messaging and compelling storytelling.
- Manage cadet enrollment processes and administrative eligibility coordination to ensure all cadets meet admission requirements and maintain continued participation.
- Analyze recruiting and cadet performance data to identify trends, improve outcomes, and inform strategic decisions related to Corps growth and success.
- Support cadet programs, discipline, and scholarship initiatives, including fundraising, endowed scholarships, and cadet sponsorship efforts.
- Coordinate with the Deputy Commandant – Operations to align recruiting efforts with operational capacity and cadet experience.
- Represent the Corps through briefings and participation in institutional and cadet activities, including physical fitness and weekend events as required.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree; or three to eight years of relevant experience in recruiting, enrollment management, or operational leadership.
- Ability to wear military uniform or Service equivalent daily.
- Experience in in-person, telephonic, and virtual customer engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree; eight or more years of relevant experience in recruiting, enrollment management, or operational leadership.
- Data analysis expertise and strategic advising in higher education or military recruitment.
- College-level recruiting, admissions, or enrollment management experience.
- Battalion or higher level military leadership experience.
- Experience with Army ROTC Cadet Command, Service Academies, or National Guard programs.
- Prior military experience.
- Spreadsheet generation, CRM, data management, and analysis expertise.
