Job Description

Arup is hiring a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist / Senior Recruiter for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Houston, TX with onsite expectations. In this role, you will own full life cycle recruiting, build sourcing strategies for niche hiring needs, and guide senior stakeholders with data-driven insights, while maintaining a high-touch candidate experience for both active and passive talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full life cycle recruiting, from strategic briefing and market analysis through onboarding, aligning activities with business priorities and operational hiring needs.
  • Design and execute sophisticated sourcing strategies using market intelligence, talent mapping, and direct outreach to create diverse pipelines.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders and hiring managers with data-informed insights on market trends, talent availability, and recruitment strategy.
  • Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the recruitment process by proactively attracting candidates from varied backgrounds.
  • Deliver a high-touch, candidate-centric experience, managing communications and queries across internal and external stakeholders from application through offer.
  • Maintain data integrity, compliance, and reporting by keeping the applicant tracking system updated in real time.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR Business Partners and global teams, including Rewards, Mobility, EDI, and Operations, to understand talent needs, drive process improvements, and support compliance and reporting standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, ideally supporting engineering, construction, or technical hiring with direct sourcing, market mapping, and engagement of passive candidates.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to prioritize while managing an average of 15 to 20 requisitions across multiple locations and subject areas.
  • Experience sourcing high-caliber active and passive candidates through networking, search tools, job boards, referrals, events, and other channels.
  • Ability to own the candidate journey from initial contact through closing an offer.
  • Strong pipeline management and data integrity practices, including proactive sharing of data-centric updates.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and coordinate across diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented mindset with an interest in creating impact without being prompted.
  • Curiosity for deeper research into market trends and domain technology to understand the business.
  • Commitment to inclusive hiring practices, including a demonstrated history of building diverse teams and driving change.

Contract Details

  • Contract type: 6-month Fixed-Term contract
  • Extensions and permanence: For high-performing individuals, there may be opportunities to extend the assignment and/or transition into a permanent position, subject to business requirements and organizational needs.
  • Employment note: Future employment cannot be guaranteed, but Arup is seeking candidates interested in contributing and growing with the team.
  • Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
  • Compensation: Hiring range is $50 to $60 per hour (good faith base salary hiring range).
