Heavy Haul Driver Recruiter

Heavy Haul Driver Recruiter role at Miller Transfer, on-site in Canton, OH, responsible for sourcing and hiring CDL-A drivers (company drivers and independent contractors) across the United States, while managing the full recruitment lifecycle on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement focused recruitment strategies to attract CDL-A driver talent through social media, proactive outreach, job boards, referrals, and lead generation
• Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for company drivers and independent contractors, from first contact to hire
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with candidates, industry contacts, and current drivers to build a strong talent pipeline
• Perform comprehensive screening of driver applicants, verifying qualifications, reviewing MVRs, and ensuring DOT compliance
• Daily review of safety-sensitive applications in the applicant tracking system to maintain accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate onboarding logistics including travel arrangements and new hire orientation in partnership with the driver trainer
• Maintain professional and timely communication with every candidate at each stage of the process
• Stay current on industry trends, employment law, and labor regulations affecting driver recruitment
• Participate in weekly recruiting team meetings and monthly fleet calls

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of driver or transportation recruiting experience, with an eye for strong CDL-A candidates
• Comfort with high-volume calling, proactive follow-up, and closing candidates
• Highly organized and self-directed, capable of managing 20+ open positions simultaneously
• Familiar with applicant tracking systems and social media sourcing platforms
• Results-driven with a candidate-first approach
