Job Description

At Penske Racing South in Mooresville, an on-site Talent Acquisition Recruiter plays a hands-on role in shaping the team that powers competitive racing operations. This position sits in the office daily, partnering with business units to manage recruiting, onboarding, and essential HR services in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, post, and maintain job advertisements on internal and external boards; keep postings current.
Review resumes and applications promptly, advancing qualified candidates through the process.
Lead phone or virtual screens, support in-person interviews, and contribute to a strong candidate experience.
Coordinate interview schedules and arrange candidate travel as applicable.
Collaborate with leaders to gather role requirements and draft or refresh job descriptions.
Maintain accurate data and files in HR systems; ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire orientation and exit processes.
Serve as an HR resource for assigned business units by answering questions and routing items appropriately.
Learn and apply core HR disciplines (employee relations, policies, compliance, and HR operations) with guidance from senior HR partners.
Collaborate with HR teammates on projects and process improvements as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive or confidential information.
2+ years of related HR, recruiting, or HR operations experience preferred.
Strong interest in building a career in Human Resources; recruiting experience, with technical recruiting a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS/ATS platforms is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to interact effectively with candidates, employees, and leaders.
Exposure to immigration-related processes is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through.
Adaptable, solutions-oriented mindset with sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal oversight.
Capacity to gather information, identify risks or issues, and recommend practical solutions.
Self-starter who takes initiative, meets commitments, and drives work to completion.

Role overview

This onsite role in Mooresville, NC supports the full recruiting and onboarding lifecycle in a fast paced manufacturing setting. You will handle candidate sourcing, resume review, phone screening, interview coordination, pre-employment steps, onboarding administration, and recruiting events while maintaining strong talent pipelines and delivering a positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities

Post approved job requisitions to recruiting sources and maintain accurate postings
Review resumes and screen applicants against established requirements
Conduct initial phone screens and document candidate qualifications
Schedule interviews and coordinate logistics between candidates and hiring teams
Maintain candidate pipelines and talent pools within the ATS
Assist with candidate sourcing through job boards, referrals, recruiting platforms, and community outreach
Support career fairs, hiring events, and other recruiting activities
Prepare and send pre-boarding documents to prospective candidates
Initiate and track background checks, drug screens, and other pre-employment requirements
Audit pre-employment and onboarding documentation for compliance and accuracy
Assist with new hire onboarding tasks, including I-9 verification, orientation preparation, and new hire paperwork
Maintain candidate, recruiting, and employee records within ATS and HRIS systems
Update recruiting metrics, reports, and hiring trackers
Respond to candidate inquiries with timely communication throughout the process
Support HR administrative activities, including employee file maintenance, compliance tracking, and data entry
Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of recruiting, human resources, or related experience preferred
Experience with ATS, HRIS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and major job boards to build talent pipelines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities in a fast paced manufacturing setting
Customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with candidates and hiring managers
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations
