Student Exchange Host Family Recruiter

International Student Exchange Programs seeks a compassionate Area Representative and Student Exchange Host Family Recruiter to support international high school placements in the Mobile, Alabama area. This 1099 freelance role focuses on recruiting and screening volunteer host families, matching students with host homes, and maintaining ongoing placement support throughout the school year.

Role Overview

• Complete independence: 1099 contractor role with ownership of your calendar and schedule.
• Community-based engagement: Build local connections with families and partners through face-to-face outreach, including use of friendly local Facebook groups.
• Professional networking: Establish meaningful business relationships with local leaders and neighbors.
• Earning structure: Flat-fee placement compensation and bonuses, along with monthly stipends tied to student supervision.
• Travel incentives: Potential qualification for fully covered annual domestic and international corporate group trips.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit and screen prospective volunteer host families.
• Conduct in-person home visits prior to student arrival.
• Match August-arriving international exchange students with appropriate host families.
• Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, businesses, community organizations, and local families.
• Promote ISE’s inbound high school exchange and Study Abroad programs.
• Act as the local contact for host-family placement and student-supervision matters.
• Meet in person each month with the host family and exchange student.
• Report concerns or placement challenges to the ISE Regional Manager.
• Participate in community events, school meetings, outreach activities, and informational sessions.
• Follow State Department compliance regulations for placement and supervision of high school exchange students.
