Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Specialist
Job Description
A & A Plumbing, Heating & Cooling LLC in Schertz, TX is creating a recruiting function from scratch to support growth and expand capabilities across trades, office roles, and leadership. This onsite leadership position will own the full hiring cycle, ensuring alignment with revenue targets and operational needs as the company scales.
Responsibilities
- Build and Manage the Hiring Pipeline
- Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates to support growth goals, including plumbing and HVAC technicians, installers and apprentices, customer service and office professionals, accountants, marketing professionals, and other specialized roles, as well as department managers and leadership-level positions. Prioritize positions that directly affect revenue, capacity, and operational performance.
- Create the Recruiting Process
- Build a practical, repeatable recruiting system that includes job posting and outreach templates, candidate screening and interview processes, recruiting timelines and hiring workflows, and a sourcing strategy tailored to skilled trades, office positions, and leadership searches. Implement a simple applicant tracking and reporting system that gives the General Manager clear visibility into hiring activity.
- Source Candidates Proactively
- Direct outreach, employee referrals, trade schools and technical programs, industry relationships, online recruiting platforms, community partnerships, professional networking, and other channels.
- Advise the General Manager
- Serve as the General Manager’s trusted resource on recruiting activity, candidate quality, and hiring risk; translate the company’s growth budget into an actionable hiring plan; provide regular pipeline updates; identify potential delays before they affect revenue or operations.
Requirements
- Have experience building or significantly improving a recruiting process
- Are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of results
- Have experience managing several different types of openings at the same time
- Understand that recruiting skilled trades requires proactive sourcing and relationship-building
- Can adjust your approach when recruiting technicians, office professionals, and leadership candidates
- Communicate clearly with hiring managers and company leadership
- Are organized, responsive, and comfortable tracking recruiting activity and results
- Can identify hiring risks and recommend solutions before positions remain open too long
- Work well with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment
