CDL Driver Recruiter / Driver Trainer (Trucking Industry)

Sun Transportation Systems USA invites you to join our Hutchins, Texas onsite team as a CDL Driver Recruiter and Driver Trainer. You will recruit, onboard, and train drivers while collaborating with dispatch and planning teams. Responsibilities

• Source, recruit, and onboard company drivers and owner-operators
• Conduct phone screenings, interviews, and hiring decisions
• Develop recruiting strategies across Indeed, job boards, social media, and referrals
• Promote SUN Transportation Systems USA to attract high-quality drivers
• Conduct new driver orientation and onboarding
• Perform road tests and over-the-road evaluations when required
• Train drivers on company policies, safety, and ELD usage
• Support new hires during onboarding and transition to dispatch
• Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Maintain accurate driver qualification files
• Monitor driver performance using ELD systems, with Samsara preferred
• Collaborate with dispatch and planning teams to forecast hiring needs
• Build driver retention programs and engagement strategies
• Track KPIs such as cost per hire, time to hire, and turnover rate
• Address driver concerns and improve driver satisfaction

Requirements

• 1+ year experience in driver recruiting or the trucking industry
• Strong knowledge of DOT FMCSA regulations
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Experience

• Recruiting: 1 year (Preferred)
• CDL Driving: 1 year (Preferred)
