Overview
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist for Transitional Housing, you will oversee recruitment for more than 50 active requisitions across direct support roles, partnering with multiple housing sites to maintain clear timelines and a superior candidate journey. This position is based in Queens, NY, offers hybrid work arrangements, and carries a salary of USD 66,300 to 72,000 per year. The role focuses on sourcing, interviewing, and guiding candidates from first outreach through offer acceptance, ensuring alignment with site needs and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Direct the recruitment process for 50+ open requisitions spanning direct support roles such as Residence Workers, Case Managers, Shift Supervisors, Housing Specialists, and Social Workers.
- Foster strong partnerships with hiring managers, providing guidance and aligning on site-specific needs.
- Actively source candidates through job boards, social networks, alumni networks, and employee referrals.
- Screen applications in iCIMS to assess experience, credentials, and minimum qualifications.
- Conduct phone interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications, motivation, and readiness for client-facing roles.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers across multiple residential and housing sites, ensuring clear logistics and timely follow-up.
- Maintain visibility of operational changes and staffing needs at each site through regular check-ins with hiring managers.
- Adhere to established iCIMS processes and workflows to ensure compliance, data integrity, and streamlined recruiting operations.
- Track candidate progress through the recruitment pipeline, updating status and notes in iCIMS to ensure transparency.
- Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks, driving each requisition toward offer acceptance.
- Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to navigate nuanced hiring situations and develop practical solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of end-to-end recruiting experience, with a strong preference for social services recruiting.
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of 50+ active requisitions concurrently.
- Proficiency with iCIMS or another applicant tracking system for screening, pipeline management, and reporting; iCIMS experience strongly preferred.
- Expertise in diverse sourcing strategies, including job boards, social networks, professional associations, and referrals.
- Strong collaborative skills to build trust and alignment with hiring managers across multiple locations.
- Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail for process adherence and accurate data capture.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, capable of anticipating obstacles and advancing recruitment.
- Adept at conducting structured phone screens to evaluate fit for client-facing roles.
